Tax Free for Travelers
All travellers who haven't passports or permanent residence on the European Union are authorized to get tax refund.
When you make purchase in shops with signature "TAX Free for tourist", please ask for a TAX Free dokument with a receipt attached. Please note: travellers can demand a tax refund if total amount of their buying goods with tax will be over 200 PLN. The goods have to export not later than three month after the purchase. At the Chopin Airport will be accepted Global Blue and Premier checks only.
Please arrive at the airport no later than 2 hours before departure for domestic flights or 3 hours for long-haul flights. All claimed goods have to be packed in your baggage or hand luggage.
Please note!
If your items are in your baggage go to a check-in counter where you will obtain your baggage receipt tags, then go with baggage to the customs located landside.
If your items are in your hand luggage go to customs located after passport control. If you are transferring via EU country items have to present to custom officer in the last EU country you pass through.
After showing your items, receipts and passport to custom officer, your TAX Free document will be stamped. Remember - without stamped documents you can't collect a tax refundation.
The refundation you can collect at one of offices:
- International Currency Exchange, departures hall, landside, from 05:00 till last flight;
- International Currency Exchange, departures hall, passenger zone, Schengen flights, from 05:00 till last flight;
- International Currency Exchange, departures hall, passenger zone, non-Schengen flights, from 05:00 till last flight;
- Money World, departures hall, passenger zone, Schengen flights, from 06:00 till last flight.
